This policy is designed to set forth the influencing factors that ensure quality, legality, and all related food and general product safety issues are given proper consideration.
Northern Gold Foods Limited supplies a range of cereal-based products to the North American market, to be consumed by a cross-section of society. To achieve confidence in food and general product safety the company will seek to:
- Install equipment and build facilities that meet the requirements of all relevant legislation, improving upon current standards whenever possible. Sanitary design and quality-related benefits are always given top priority.
- Employ high standards of expertise and training to optimise employee performance, commitment and enthusiastic participation in the achievement of company goals. The company is supportive of specialized training opportunities and continuous upgrading of skilled labour and management positions.
- Train for and respond to all incidents that may place the consumer and the company’s reputation at risk. Maintain documentation and emergency protocols essential to effective communication and resolute problem solving.
- Commit to standards of quality that are placed at the cornerstone of success and decision making.
- Monitor all national and international food safety developments to determine their potential effect and thus establish proper response and action procedures. Programs are reviewed and audited on a regular basis to ensure their currency and validate their effectiveness.
This policy should be considered in association with and integral to Northern Gold’s Food Safety Programs, including HACCP, and other related programs and policies.
